"If you can't feed 100 then feed just one."

My name is Mother Lena and I started Mother Lena's Cat Rescue because all animals deserve a better life.

I have always loved cats. I live in Sweden and in the winter many cats go hungry or they freeze to death due to the harsh weather. I wish to put an end to this misery by providing loving homes for the many homeless cats in my area and provide them with food medical needs.

We try to catch as many cats as we can with insulated cat cages laid on the snow. When we catch a cat we bring them in nurse them back to good health get their medical needs taken care of then all the time we love them turning them into good loving grateful cats others can now adopt.

If you love cats like we do then please help support our efforts by donating what you can or by buying an item on our shopping page. All monies go to rescue, food and medical needs of the cats.

Thank you and may God Bless you for your help

The first kitten we caught was Engel/Engla.
The next evening we went out, there were too many people around. There are often a lot of people, when you are out rescuing cats, knowing exactly how to catch a stray cat or how to take care of them ... at least they think they do ... :P
These people usuaully never do anything to help out. They just tell you what you are doing wrong. Then there are the people, who want the cats to stay outside, as their pets, but they don´t take care of them and don´t really want any responsability for them either. They are very aggressive when you come to take their sweethearts away. These people are ignorant about how the cats suffer from infections, inner parasites, hunger and cold weather.
They can be very loud, scaring the cats away. That is why nighttime is the best time for rescuing cats, in my opinion.
The other night we had to go home without any cat, because of all the turmoil on the place...

Next time we went out, Mattias and I was out together. The cats were well fed, so we tried to play with them and make them relax a bit. They keep at a safe distance, until their hunting instinct really kicks in and they forget about you being close. This was the case with Sören, who was caught in a game of sticks.
We were very happy to take one of Engla´s siblings home. Now she wouldn´t have to be alone anymore ...
